Jim Parsons gets a fourth Emmy – Metro Montreal

LOS ANGELES, USA – “Orange is the New Black” and “House of Cards” have failed to write a new page of history at the 66th Emmy ceremony, awards for television production United States on Monday.

The two series, broadcast on Netflix, could become the first online series to get the most prestigious award at the Emmys.

The first could ahead “Modern Family” in the best comedy category. As for the second, it was powerless against the real winner of the evening, the “Breaking Bad” series, in the best drama series. The latter has won four other awards, reaching almost to monopolize gambling categories of actors.

If the two sets online could not write a new page of history, Jim Parsons and Bryan Cranston both rewrote the record books Emmys. Parsons, who plays a lovable geek in “The Big Band Theory” series was named best actor in a comedy. This is her fourth statuette, which puts it on a par with Kelsey Grammer and Michael J. Fox.

As for Bryan Cranston, the star of “Breaking Bad,” he removed him as the fourth statuette in his career, this time for Best Actor in a drama series, joining Dennis Franz at the forefront of the ranking of the most awarded actors.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the series Veep, continued to impose its domination in the category Best Actress in a Comedy statuette by removing the third year in a row. It sparked laughter in the room when, going for the trophy, she stopped pretending to kiss Cranston with whom she had already starred in “Seinfeld.” As for Julianna Marguilles, it has established itself in the category of Best Actress in a Drama Series.

The memory of Robin Williams, who died recently, was welcomed by Billy Crystal. The designers of the ceremony then managed the feat of presenting a short montage of television passages of great actor without including an excerpt from “Mork & amp; Mindy, “the series that revealed to the public.

The host of the ceremony, Seth Meyers, set the tone for the evening by mocking conventional networks, including his own employer NBC , for having done outdone by series from pay TV or new productions broadcast via the Internet.

Still, the first two winners of the evening playing in the series with their nests on conventional networks. Ty Burrell of Modern Family (ABC) and Allison Janney Mom (CBS) have both removed the Emmy presented to the best supporting roles in a comedy.

Hercules mythology for dummies – Le Figaro

Director Rush Hour addresses the Greek legend. The result? A bloody epic that is not in the lace.

Five months after the release of The legend of Hercules , in which the young Kellan Lutz wore sandals of the Greek hero, Hercules already experiencing a second life on the big screen. Admittedly, the peplum is back in fashion, from the 300 Zach Snyder, released in 2006, and its prequel, 300: The Birth of an Empire Noam Murro. Away from the tank and the beautiful Cleopatra, the new Greek fight over thundering music, in fights that end in blood, and their bulging muscles shine in an aesthetic photography.

Like 300 , Hercules Brett Ratner ( Rush Hour , X-Men: The Last Stand ) is based on a comic book published by Steve Moore in 2008. it would also, according to his friend Alan Moore (author of Watchmen ) hit no rights to the adaptation. These are not the famous works that narrate the film by Brett Ratner, but the life of the legend after his exploits. Became head of a group of mercenary, Hercules fights for money and is haunted by the murder of his wife and children. When the rightful king of the kingdom of Thrace promises its weight in gold if it helps to recover his throne, Hercules accepts without question.

The scenario is not without interest: the new Hercules questions constantly myth. Is it truly the son of Zeus? Is there a god or a man? The body of Dwayne Johnson, his muscles and give him blankly that air of being both over men and human stupidly. When you see The Rock , tied to his chains, screaming “I’m Hercules!” Epidermal side of his interpretation works paradox. By Hercules a being more human than divine, Ratner is the opportunity to try to make strikes a chord of his character and tries to do his maelstrom a tale about friendship, loyalty and the fragility of human emotions .

But what could have been an interesting development in perspective of a legend, is marred by the compulsive need to make the director of entertainment, and the humor two sesterces. The dialogues seem to be a sloppy way to bridge the gap between two bloody battle scenes, and the production and assembly are conspicuous by their absence. Joints are missing that all ambitions Retner meet, and his schoolboy humor often falls flat. Rest tragic situations, which in turn make you laugh. But it was not perhaps the desired effect.

All his friends were there: Francis Ford Coppola Jean Ormesson Bernard Kouchner and Jack Lang. It was in June 2011, in the small village of Mousset, in the commune of Pauillac (33). Bright sunshine. In Bordeaux, 60 miles away, stood Vinexpo. The global meeting place for wine and spirits. As a symbol of his life, Philippine de Rothschild met with her at the heart of the Medoc, the two worlds that were his: those of wine and entertainment, and even celebrities.

It was on the occasion of the inauguration of the new cellars of Château Clerc Milon, one of its properties in AOC Pauillac (see cons below). For this prestigious dinner, a large tent was mounted at the foot of vine plots. And the hostess, as always, remembered how she liked to party and share.

Suffering and decreased following a major operation, Philippine de Rothschild died Friday night in Paris at the age of 80. After a career in Paris in the theater and film, the actress arrived in Pauillac there just a quarter of a century. She takes after her father, Philippe de Rothschild, who, until the last moment, took care of the wine business this famous family name. She was his only daughter. A change of life at age 55.

“It was a great lady of wine” confesses Jean-Michel Cazes, his neighbor Pauillac (Chateau Lynch-Bages) and president of the label. “We had to see her wearing the colors of its properties worldwide. It was also a citizen of Pauillac, locally involved, as was his father. “A father also buried in a private vault, the property of Mouton Rothschild.

“She had a strong character … Both owner and also involved on a daily basis to manage the group. Spending his time between Paris and Pauillac, while traveling so much, “confesses a former home setting. “Being in his service and that of his company was like a priesthood. But, undoubtedly, it has prospered the family inheritance. His business is structured, consistent and profitable. “

From an artistic and passionate temperament, Philippine de Rothschild was also known in the world of wine and out. Political worlds, entertainment or culture, built bridges across it, with a simple goal: to bring great wines in the galaxy of luxury and refinement.

When we see that today represent the great wines (! And price), it is clear that this work – also conducted by other owners – has paid off. There is now much more than wine in these prestigious bottles …

Still assembling his two passions, a renowned stage designer at the same oversaw the work, a rarity for a vineyard. In the presence of her friend Bernadette Chirac, Philippine de Rothschild had trouble pronouncing his speech to a thousand guests. Fatigue, but also to advance energy already costs. Beside her, her great son, Philip and Julian. As a handover.

The mother of three children (she also has a daughter) will mark the history of Bordeaux. On Sheep, during work, she wanted to give a beautiful place into a museum to his heart. Two blondes Tornadoes open the show Rock en Seine – Le Figaro

WE WERE THERE – This Friday, despite the bad weather, the Paris festival began on a bang with concerts Blondie, The Hives and Arctic Monkeys

Rain and heat all on this late August will not have had because of the motivation of the Festival, which were 40,000 to make the trip for the first day of Rock Seine. True to its mission to promote French and international rock scene, the 12th edition of the festival brought together a beautiful poster, distributed among five scenes.

The afternoon was marked by the dreamlike performance Nantais PEGASE, the explosive set of Swedish tigresses Tiger Bell, frenzied solos and Gary Clark Jr., considered by many as the Hendrix tomorrow. In specific 18:45 British Jake Bugg, 20, appears on the main stage in the rain. Bowl cut, cole black turtleneck as his Telecaster, minimalist look of the young man with his slice impressive solos mastery. For a good hour show, it makes the songs from his second album Shangri La , to an audience that wiggles in rhythm.

But, even before the concert was over, the audience, in small groups and mass operates a movement from one side to the other of the Domaine de Saint-Cloud. A girl takes her friend’s hand visibly reluctant to move, “It’s a legend, anyway!”. The legend “even”, which amounts to the time on the small stage of the Cascade name is Debbie Harry, voice and soul of the group Blondie. Platinum blond wig as and pink glasses, the singer makes the tubes without fail, despite a mix that does not do justice to his voice hoarse. Call me , Atomic , Heart of Glass : The front of the small stage crammed public, including fifties nostalgia and teenage punk, struggles with passion . This show, which marks the 40th anniversary of the band’s career, will be blessed by two rainbows in the sky.

Then it was the turn of the six members of The Hives, dressed all in white, to electrify the Main Stage with their sixties rock. Despite micro “kaput” singer Howlin ‘Pelle Almqvist is excited. Alternately, he berates the public, blown, sit. The crowd obeyed without flinching, conquered by their euphoric tubes Tick Tick Boom or Because I wanna .

Change radical atmosphere when the South African sensation Die Antwoord invests the scene with her Fuck you in the ass . From the first track, sets the tone: this show is brutal, aggressive, and effective. This is strictly speaking a crowd in a trance hosting the heady electro three merry freaks, aternativement sung in Afrikaans, Xhosa and English. Object of attention, the blonde singer of Yo-Landi group on stage in an orange jumpsuit, she will soon take off for a boxer at heart. In the audience, this time very young, hair like clothes are multicolored. The set ends with an audience that repeated chorus “Fuck your Rules”.

The first day ends with the set of the British Arctic Monkeys, who have several tubes of their highly successful AM . The concert is also simple in the staging that mastered the art. Alternating energetic tubes ( Do I wanna know ) and ballads ( I wanna be yours ), the leader Alex Turner, gominée hair and leather jacket, creates emotions among the public women in the front rows. After about twenty songs, the quartet retired, ending a first day which bodes well for the following events. Last year, the festival had beaten her attendance record with 118,000 viewers.
