No matter yield. Le Bataclan reopen. The theater where 90 people were killed by three jihadists, November 13, will be renovated and will reopen by the end of the year, announced its management team.

A desired reopen before the end of 2016

The Bataclan was hosting a concert by the Eagles Of Death Metal group, an American rock band, when three armed jihadists wearing explosive belts entered and shot dead 89 people.

“We will do our best to accommodate to new shows before the end of 2016,” said a statement from Bataclan, co-directed for twelve years by Jules Frutos and Olivier Poubelle. “We are working with architects and engineers,” said Jérôme Langlet, the head of the branch of Lagardere, owner of the room.

In early December, the historic leaders co-owners of the hall, had already announced the end of 2016 like a reopening of the hall with a capacity of about 1500 seats. Built in 1864 under the name “Chinese Grand Café – Bataclan Theatre”, its name refers to Ba-ta-clan, an operetta by Offenbach. The property is a historical monument.

Since its revival in the 1970s, the hall, located 50 Boulevard Voltaire, in the eleventh district, has seen many French and international stars such as Lou Reed, Telephone, Prince, Oasis, or Stromae.
