Orlando Bloom and Ian McKellen honored in Deauville – Le Figaro

The 41st American Film Festival will honor two British comedians, emblematic players in the saga of the Lord of the Rings .

41st edition under the sign of the fantasy ? The Deauville Festival, to be held from September 4 to 13, will pay tribute to Orlando Bloom and Ian McKellen in their presence. The two mythical heroes of Lord of the Rings will join Keanu Reeves, who will also be present on the Côte Fleurie.

Ian McKellen became known worldwide for his roles in the saga X-Men , as Magneto and embodying Gandalf in the trilogy of JRR Tolkien. Throughout his career he has shown both on theater boards, with classic and modern productions on film sets. At the festival, it will present a preview Mr. Holmes . In this film, he plays an aging Sherlock Holmes which must lead one of the largest surveys of its life.

Orlando Bloom is also an iconic actor of film adaptations of Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean . It has also confirmed its participation in the fifth installment of the Disney series.

The American Film Festival will also be the occasion of a tribute to Terrence Malick and presentation of its long- film, Knight of Cups . Everest with Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley will open the Normandy event.
