Attack of Nice : a tribute upsetting Julien Clerc victims – The Figaro

VIDEO The artist, very moved, he performed the song Useful in front of more than two thousand people who were gathered together on Saturday, October 15, on the Castle Hill of Nice, during the ceremony of national homage to the victims of the attack on the promenade des Anglais.

Poignant, solemn, vibrant… The song Julien Clerc has moved the whole of France. Accompanied by a piano, the artist has interpreted the song Useful in front of more than two thousand people who were gathered together on Saturday, October 15, on the Castle Hill of Nice, to pay tribute to the 86 victims of the terrorist attack that occurred on the 14th of July last, on the promenade des Anglais.

“what good is a song if it is disarmed? Told Me Chileans, open arms, fists clenched. As an ancient language. We wanted to slay. I want to be useful to live and to dream. As the moon faithful to any area I want to be useful to those who have loved me. To those that I love. And to those who loved me. I want to be useful to live and sing”, and sang the artist, the voice broken by the emotion.

On hearing the song, many people such as the minister of national Education Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, who could not hold their tears. Written by the lyricist Etienne Roda-Gil in 1992, it had already been taken over by Julien Clerc on January 11, 2015, during the evening of tribute held after the attack on Charlie Hebdo.
