Leonardo DiCaprio not nervous at all about the Oscars – Le Figaro

Named Thursday in the “Best Actor” category for his role in The Revenant, never Oscar-winning artist says stay calm. Can we really believe it?

“I do not know why I should be nervous. I’ve already done everything. ” US actor Leonardo DiCaprio, called Thursday for an Oscar for best actor for his role in The Revenant , days after his coronation at the Golden Globes, said Friday in London will not be stressed out because it has “given everything” during the making of the film.

“As long as you’re on the set and you give everything, that’s all you can do,” said the BBC Radio 1 the actor 41 years after the UK premiere of the film. The actor who has been nominated four times previously but never won the prestigious statuette, is this year very acclaimed by critics. Yet, when asked about his chances of winning this time the Oscar for best actor, the artist said “being too attached to the film to really know what is true or not a reward.”

The Revenant , the odyssey of the legendary trapper Hugh Glass, between survival and revenge, directed by Alejandro Inarritu has already won 12 nominations. The actor who’s bison eating raw liver, climb snow-capped mountains and swim in icy rivers, welcomed these quotes.

“It’s very nice. Really. When you commit body and soul to something (…) a particular type of film that is not seen often out of Hollywood, “the actor continued.

‘C’ Art is an epic film. The studios are certainly used to taking safe paris (…) therefore have a film that not only works at the box office and is also recognized by our peers, it’s really exciting because I did . never participated in such an experimental film, “he explained

Faced with” Leo “, rivals abound: Bryan Cranston ( Dalton Trumbo ), Michael Fassbender ( Steve Jobs ), Matt Damon (S nly on Mars ). The Englishman Eddie Redmayne, who received an Oscar last year, was again raised in the selection with its poignant interpretation of a transsexual pioneer in The Danish Girl .

The Oscars will be presented in Los Angeles on February 28 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Leonardo DiCaprio will (again) be patient before receiving the opinion of the jury, who may choose (finally) this year to award him the famous grail.
