For its thirtieth edition, the fashion jury chose a candidate minimalist work. A mirror of contemporary creation, halfway between free expression and commercial reality.
D e wool, knit, draped, belted, all in a masterful blueprint: the sobriety Franco-German designer Annelie Schubert that will charmed the jury of Hyères festival.
The latter, composed of pundits fashion (Virginie Viard, director of Chanel studio) and figures of elegance French (the actress Anna Mouglalis), said to have unanimously appreciated “silhouette, loud and clear, subtle details and discrete structures, and a report of materials and incredible colors” .
A mature collection, perhaps less whimsical than the debut festival, but the mirror of a changing industry. “You need to know both self talk and also keep the future in mind,” , Anna Mouglalis analysis on parts of the winning and stylish, with a commercial reality. The latter will receive a scholarship creation of 15 000 euros, a possibility to work with Chanel crafts and a capsule collection for Petit Bateau. “I hope to work in a home rather than launch my brand,” says the winner after the show, who thinks that its parts should “primarily be thought for the daily” .
Chloe Price, also 15 000, was awarded by the partner home to more experimental silhouettes Anna Bornhold whose skylines deploy a set of tapering. Special mention was also attributed to the Dutch Wieke Sinnige, surrealist references and transparency games.
As for Kenta Matsushige, winner of the 2014, he returned to present a tone-sur- collection tone, with delicate embroidery and carried out with the Lesage workshop, mixed pastoral and modern notes. “It was a continuation more
refined and more depth of my first collection” , has he said.
