In the “camp” of Eurockéennes, huge ephemeral village and overheated where more than 16,000 festivalgoers desperately seeking shade, organizers and rescuers multiply prevention efforts to avoid sunstroke and discomfort due to the heat wave. To face temperatures – 38 degrees in the shade readings Saturday – the contemporary music festival organizers have installed a giant misting, with propellers and hoses, next to the big stage. At the campsite, other devices of this type have been set up. “Too bad they did not send enough water, but the idea is nice, it feels good,” launched two mini-shorts Jurassiennes and wet T-shirts.
Fanny Tresy, 25, and his girlfriend Cindy Cassabois 24, also “provided water guns to cool off and have fun at concerts.” “The two extremes were tested: last year, it was floundering in the mud, with rubber boots and raincoat, and this year it’s the heat,” they laugh, confident “prefer the heat wave” .

Free drinking water points were also made available to festival-goers and, unlike other years, the showers are open 24 hours on 24 to camping. Since Saturday, the festival will move with water through the aisles of the campsite, in bottles, buckets, on small trucks or even in simple plastic bags.
The rescuers and the ambulance were mobilized. “Because of the heat, it could have been catastrophic, but it’s hot for a week, people have had time to get used to the heat and anticipate,” notes Dr. Sandra Deleule, head of device Samu Eurockéennes. “Finally, there is no more hot shots and sunstroke than other years,” added the emergency room.
Saturday at 13 pm, the ambulance had registered nearly 250 interventions, 80% of “bobologie” and five people transferred to hospital for sprain type injuries. “Prevention messages -diffusés by the organization via the Social networks have been respected and many campers are regulars festivals, they know they have to protect themselves if they want to enjoy concerts bottomed,” said Antoine Vincent-Viry, head of rescuers of the Red Cross at the campsite.
