Royal baby 2. Baptism of Princess Charlotte: the first … – Ouest-France


         Kate and William baptized on Sunday their daughter Charlotte. The ceremony is held in the St. Mary Magdalene Church, in the county of Norfolk.

Unlike its big brother George in 2013, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana has not been called in London but near the country home of her parents, Anmer Hall located on the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk.

The Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Sandringham is located right next to the field and members of the royal family used to attend the offices.

Two godmothers and three godfathers!

The Queen, 89, and her husband, Prince Philip, 94 years, Charlotte grandparents back are present at this intimate ceremony, as well as Prince Charles, paternal grandfather, and his wife Camilla. Maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton, also among the guests, as well as the brother and sister Kate, Pippa and James.

Charlotte will have two godmothers and three godfathers: Sophie Carter, a close friend of the duchess, and Laura Fellowes, the niece of Princess Diana and cousin of William Adam Middleton, Kate’s cousin, Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade, both friends close to William and Kate.

The religious ceremony will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, the spiritual leader of 85 million Anglicans in the world.

Born May 2 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, Princess Charlotte took fourth position in the Line of succession to the British throne behind his grandfather Charles, his father William and brother George.
