The 69th Avignon Festival is open – FranceTV info

(FRANCE 3)

“What is striking here is that every year it’s the same magic. When three shots are given, the city is changing. It is colored with thousands of posters and triple at least its population “ explains Dominique Poncet. We wait in the city of the Popes in the three weeks ahead about one million spectators for 1,500 shows on offer: the theater but also dance, singing, opera or circus

<. p> “This is probably the unique eclecticism which protects Avignon any attempt to budget cuts,” says the correspondent. Many festivals had indeed put the key under the door because of the reductions in subsidies.
