Born December 16, 1866 in Moscow – December 4 according to the Julian calendar – the Russian painter was a nomad. He moved to Germany in 1896 and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In Hitler took power in 1933, he emigrated to France in 1933 and became a French citizen. Precursor, art theorist plays with shapes and colors, and is considered the creator of the first non-figurative watercolor of history, in 1910, although this remains controversial.
