Initially, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia stated that the sovereign was likely to stay in France between July 20 and August 20. However, it seems unlikely that the king returns by France before returning to his country, according to the French authorities.

The sovereign had arrived July 25 in his luxurious villa in Golfe-Juan (Alpes-Maritimes ) where he was to remain a good part of August. The arrival of the monarch had led to the “privatization” of the public beach of the nearby Mirandola of the villa. An online petition against the ban access to this beach has collected more than 150,000 signatures.

The range of the available Mirandola on Monday

The safety device surrounding the king of the villa will be gradually lifted, said Sunday night the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture. Bathers can regain access, on Monday, at the beach near the villa.

The work undertaken by the Saudis to install a lift connecting the property to the beach, without even waiting for the prefectural authorization their was finally granted this week, remained in the craw of elected Vallauris Golfe-Juan.

The entourage Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had expressed his dissatisfaction with regard to the welcome was reserved for him, but there is no indication that the departure of the sovereign is bound to this outcry. To top it all, last week the French weekly “Marianne” had coverage under unfriendly for King Salman.

More than half of the Saudis will leave Cannes

On the Cote d’Azur, the king is accompanied by an impressive procession around a thousand Saudis and invested Cannes and the delight of local traders and hoteliers. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice Côte d’Azur has urged to “stop the controversy,” waving “the risk of a shortened stay.”

According to the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, half or two-thirds of Saudis living in Cannes Croisette will leave the palaces.
