The name of Samuel L. Jackson travels to feature the cast of explorers in the prequel to King Kong , for the moment called Kong: Skull Island . The film will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and written by John Gatins and Max Borenstein. Filming will begin in early 2016 for release in the summer of 2017.
