Star Wars VII: derivatives will generate $ 5 billion – Le Figaro

Recipes planned commercial versions and Marketing Force Wake should far exceed those related to ticket sales, according to a US study.

The marketing of products derived from the episode VII of Star Wars is a real goose that lays golden eggs. According to Tom Nollen, an American analyst specializing in the film industry, all the commercial versions of the new intergalactic adventure, The Force Wake , should generate some five billion dollars in the first year of operation in 2016.

This amount exceeds massive fortune of one billion investment by the Disney studio (about four billion dollars) when they bought the franchise Wars Star to its creator George Lucas in 2012. The new owner of the exploitation rights and should collect 10% of this manna, either neat profit of 500 million euros.

President of Disney, Alan Horn, has not confirmed this optimistic assumption. It simply stated: “For now, we are still in limbo.”
