Berlinale 2016: the new Coen brothers comedy opening – Le Figaro

VIDEO! – Ave Caesar the new wacky feature of American directors was chosen to launch the 66th edition of the Berlin festival, which runs from 11 to 21 February 2016.

Ave, Caesar! ( Hail , Caesar! in its original version), the American comedy directed by Coen brothers will open the 66th edition of the Berlinale 2016.

Giving reply to an audience of stars including George Clooney, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, the movie the casting 5 stars will be screened February 11, 2016, and will give the starting shot at International Film Festival of Berlin, which will run until 21 February 2016.

This will also be the second time they will open the Berlinale, since their honor had been awarded in 2011 with their western True Grit. “It’s wonderful that they open a new After the Berlinale. George Clooney, a faithful film the Coen brothers ( O’Brother, Intolerable Cruelty, Burn After Reading ), embodies Baird Whitlock, a renowned actor who nevertheless has the unfortunate habit of forgetting his lines. Hired to play in a peplum called Ave, Caesar! , he is kidnapped by a group called “the future”.

Then comes Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), inspired by the true eponymous character, gray suit on his back and mustache above the lips, renowned as one of the best “fixers” to set the stars of problems.

Meryl Streep, president of the jury of the next edition, will have the pleasure of discovering the film before its release in theaters, February 17, 2016.
