James Bond: towards a return of Daniel Craig? – The Express

In cinema as in politics, it is best not to dig in too fast. “I would cut the veins rather than take over the role,” asserted Daniel Craig in October 2015 in the British version of the magazine Time Out . At 48, after four films and dozens of corpses piled up on movie sets, the British actor seemed to turn the page. Annoyed by criticism of the latest installment, Spectrum , he had refused an offer of 89 million euros in May.

But today, Sony Studios franchise owners would be willing to bet big to change his mind: 150 million dollars (134 million euros), according to the specialized website radar Online. What to engage additional two long films, while waiting to find a successor to the task.

Leaders love it

The contenders for this post yet not lacking: Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell, Tom Hughes (revealed by series Victoria ), famous names, but not enough to compete with the old veteran of the vodka martini shaker. Mute, violent, tormented, alcoholic, and served by darker world than in previous games, this “James Blond” blue eyes had given new life to a franchise out of inspiration. The point of being knighted in 2012 by his predecessor, Timothy Dalton.

“The studios are desperate to clinch the services of the player, the time to find a younger successor,” said a source not cited Radar. “Leaders love it and can not imagine losing such a crucial moment. They are willing to pay a fortune to keep it.”

The key to a smooth transition before a third film that will mark the beginning of a “new era”. And this time, I promise, the bad boy will be left in the closet.
