Golden Globes 2015: Nominations surprises and disappointments … – Inrocks

On 11 January, Tina Fey and Amy Poelher will return to present the 72th Golden Globes ceremony that will reward the best film and television of the year. Nominations series fell on Thursday December 11 and do the splits between very consensual choice and other more daring and unexpected to say the least.

side drama , the winner of last year Breaking Bad having made his final farewells, the path should be free for a bold strand. Still, the majority of nominees are exactly the same as in 2014. We thus find Downton Abbey (which nevertheless knows a certain fatigue for two seasons), The Good Wife ( ever excellent) and the second bloody season House of Cards . Game of Thrones is added to the nominees, no surprise since this series most watched and commented drama of the year.

It is rather the appointment of the new Showtime small, The Affair , which has the gift to surprise and excited about. Atmospheric series with Dominic West on a little too dangerous liaison is one of the surprises of this autumn and despite some inequality remains one of the best innovations of the year. She also has a lot to its performers who play to perfection ambiguity, Dominic West and Ruth Wilson, who’s both nominated in the categories of best actors and actresses in a drama.

Mad Men is the (too) conspicuously absent from his appointments and relates no, despite a great first half of season 7.

comedy side , it is quite surprised to see the excellent series from Amazon Transparent , we would rather have sided with the drama series. But we will not stop at that, since the category “Comedy Series” whole debate is when we see that Girls and Orange Is The New Black are also included. Surprise nominations of the year is for once a true comedy, and on which one would bet anything before school, Jane the Virgin. Broadcast on CW, LA chain specializing in the series teen ( Gossip Girl Vampire Diaries ), the series oscillates between a successful parody of telenovelas and charming romcom first degree. Its main performer Gina Rodriguez (also nominated in the category for best actress in a comedy alongside Edie Falco and Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is nothing like the archetypal sitcom actress and brings a breath of fresh air on the back .

Note that True Detective is ironed in the category of miniseries (after competing in the last series Emmy side drama) and will face Fargo with whom she shares the majority of nominations in the category
