May Allah bless France: Realistic and upsetting, the critique of … – melty.fr

Today, you’ll be spoiled for choice at the cinema! If the third component of the Hobbit is set to be the output of the day, the editorial ‘of melty.fr also wished to draw the attention of his meltynautes on another movie currently in theaters. This is the first film of rapper Abd Al Malik, entitled “May Allah bless France” (the trailer is on melty.fr), directly inspired by his autobiographical book of the same name. In this film, we discover in his youth in the guise of Marc Zinga in his teenage immigrant daily living in the neighborhood Neuhof in Strasbourg . The young man, particularly gifted, like reciting his lyrics and fights to break into the music. Fraught with pitfalls, which you will see, we were very touched at melty.fr!

This is first the particular aesthetic of the film that much intrigued us. Indeed, Abd Al Malik chose to completely turn black and white, a choice that is perfectly suited to the environment in which it takes us. Far from the clichés and stereotypes, the city is portrayed with stunning realism while leaving violence off screen. Marc Zinga portrays a young Abd Al Malik endearing, both rooted in this particular universe and eager to get out of the music. In fact, we were seized by the very fair interpretation of the other protagonists, mostly performed by non-professional actors . Everything is true in this film, until very language of these young people, wielding slang with such dexterity that the viewer first may have some difficulty understanding. This is why the editorial ‘of melty.fr is unanimous advise you to go see this movie! To make your own mind, discover an unpublished excerpt from the film “May Allah bless France.” Will you see the movie?
