We will not have this chance every day ! To turn the traditional remakes of the first film,the organizers of the Light Festival we have left we glide among the stars who are coming out of the Lumière Institute.
This year, the award recipient Catherine Deneuve has, as the tradition requires, the Festival of Light, turned his version of the first film in the history of cinema : the Output of the Light factory in Lyon. Park Chan-wook and Costa-Gavras have done the same, this Saturday, October 15, 2016. Boon unhoped-for, we were in the crowd of extras, replacing the famous workers of the first film signed Auguste and Louis Lumière !
on our side, thronged the great figures of the cinema, come celebrate the art of cinema : Bertrand Tavernier, Quentin Tarantino, Chiara Mastroianni, Julie Depardieu, Ludivine Sagnier, Emmanuelle Bercot, Vincent Lindon, Hippolyte Girardot and his daughter Ana, Thierry Frémaux (among others !)… All were part of the joyful crowd of devotees of the big screen which, year by year, re-enact the film for the first time in December 1895.
of course, each director has tried to reinvent this plan barely fifty seconds.

Park Chan-wook, first, asked the extras to wear caps to replace the caps of the 19th century, and returned to the seal outdated the fashion of the time. But to add a modern twist to the exercise, he also wanted each weapon to its smartphone and photography which amused him. Only constraint : do not look at the camera lens, such as the Lumière brothers had asked their employees (even if some could not help but take a glance at the device !). Once the crowd dispersed, Catherine Deneuve appears the last, in front of the camera. At the end of the third decision, the remake was in the box.
Costa-Gavras then wanted precisely the opposite. Catherine Deneuve leaves the first and made a sign to the others to follow. Everyone was asked to look at the camera and make him a little wave of the hand before you exit the field. A single trial was enough.
Catherine Deneuve, meanwhile, was making his first steps in the implementation stage. Nothing dubious in the face of the year, she warned the audience that there would only be one take. We had to go out in small groups, at our own pace, and accomplish a few daily gestures : recoiffer, taking out a cigarette, talk for a moment, waiting for a classmate… Miss Deneuve has kept their promise : a plug, not two.
