Artists pay homage to the Russian star Maya Plisetskaya – Le Figaro

DISAPPEARANCE – One of the greatest figures of the Bolshoi theater died Friday in Munich. Numerous personalities from the world of culture have honored the memory of the ballerina nicknamed the Diva of the dance.

According to Vladimir Ourine, Maya Plisetskaya asked that his ashes be scattered over Russia. His relatives and friends can send him a last farewell to Germany. Born November 20, 1925 in Moscow, Maya Plisetskaya was one of only two ballerinas of the Soviet Union that was dedicated the title “Prima ballerina assoluta.” She joined the Bolshoi in 1943, where she immediately established itself as one of the best dancers of his generation. Shining in the classics of the Bolshoi repertoire, she also distinguished for defying the Soviet regime, who called outrageous interpretation of some ballets.
