Ben E. King, soul and R’n’B singer and performer of the famous Stand by Me , died Thursday at the age of 76, announced Friday 1 st May his agent.
After starting his career with The Drifters, in 1950 Ben E. King signed his biggest hit in 1961. Nearly twenty years later, Stand by Me came top of the ranking of the best sellers at the time of its appearance in the film same name.
Overall, the stock is classed nine times in a hundred songs of the Billboard charts, with covers of artists such as John Lennon.
This will not the only tube in his career, since it will also sang Spanish Harlem or I (Who Have Nothing) . But about Stand By Me he will say, in a 2013 interview, he was “proud she survived through the ages” .
