Guy Béart. The singer of Whitewater died at age 85 – Ouest-France

Born 16 July 1930 in Cairo, the son of an accountant, Guy Béart, whose real name Béhart, spent his childhood the Middle East, Italy, Greece.

“The living water” popular success

On his arrival in France, he held various jobs (music copyist, math teacher, civil engineer roads) while writing songs for Patachou ( “Ball in Temporal” ), Zizi Jeanmaire ( “There are more than a year” , “I am woman” ) or Juliette Greco ( “Qu one is good “).

Guy Béart eventually launch himself into the song in Parisian cabarets. In 1957 he recorded his first album. A year later, “Water viva” (see video below) , composed for the film of the same name by François Villiers, with dialogues of Jean Giono, it is a popular success. Guy Béart has published a collection of poems ( “Colors and anger of time” 1976) and two other books ( “The foolish hope” 1987 “Time” 1995).
