A first poster and a date for Season 2 of The Walking Dead Fear on CANAL + SERIES – Canal Plus

The first episode will air on the night of April 10 to 11 on CANAL + SERIES.

A first poster for Season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead and like last year CANAL + will broadcast new episodes SERIES simultaneously the US, episodes will be available in the wake of CANAL + oN dEMAND in French and VOST.

for the occasion, we offer below an interview with Dave Erickson , the showrunner of the series that tells us more about this new season

How to “fear the walking dead is distinguished from” The Walking Dead “and can be easily become” addicted “to” Fear “if one has never seen” The Walking Dead “?

Dave Erickson: it is absolutely easy, and you do not need to know anything about “the Walking Dead” to become a fan of ” Fear “. In talking to several people, actors, producers, and some viewers, everyone agree that the way we wrote the story requires no special knowledge of comics or motherboard series. But we structured so that fans of the series mother and comics recognize the style and the links between sets. They will appreciate the different perspective that “Fear” takes.

“What’s great in Season 2 is that the bubble burst! “

In Season 1, we had quite a discussion period during which Rick Grimes was in a coma at the beginning of” The Walking Dead. “viewers wanted to know what he could have missed. [...] What is interesting in our approach to the second season, is to show how the family was isolated. It rose from the awareness, in the first episodes, that things go wrong, that the world was changing, with the arrival of the Guard Nationnale which locked them in an isolation camp. They were so confident that everything was back to normal. Only at the end of the season they have understood how things went wrong

That’s what’s great in Season 2. The bubble burst! They had to flee what they initially thought was a “safe area” and they find themselves on the coast where desolation and disaster seems to play around them. What our stepfamily to now do is to know how things went wrong. How this is it spread? Is it in the country? Is it in the world? This puts them in an interesting position: they have learned a lot from each other throughout season 1, and they are now ready to do if things go worse. But how far will they go?

All families present in season 1 were the traumatic experience of losing a loved one. Is this going to unite in season 2 and is that going to help them discover how survrire?

Well it’s interesting because one of the things that really mattered to Robert Kirkman (creator of TWD, ed) when we started was the approach could have the characters from the violence. And that does not mean only “different deaths” related to infections, but rather how each character will react when he has to kill an infected close …

” I think we’ll realize very quickly in the first episodes of season 2, they are not the only ones who had this brilliant idea. “

at the end of season 1, they experience the first zombie horde, and most (except Travis and Chris Alycia) had to fight and kill at least one. This becomes an issue of violence and morality: how will they react to all of that in Season 2?

[...]

In season 2, they are on the boat Strand, the “Abigail”, and I think that we will realize very quickly, in the first episodes of season 2 is that they are not the only ones who had this brilliant idea. Which will create new conflicts: What will they do if they encounter infected? And most importantly, what will they do if they encounter other survivors?

At the end of season 1, Strand said: “The only way to survive in a crazy world is to embrace the madness itself.” How will he lead in Season 2?

I think the main theme of this 2nd season of Fear, is that once established the fact that the world is beautiful is good “party” and that ‘there is no going back, what will become of the characters? Are they going to be able to survive? Where will they devoured and consumed by the Apocalypse, where do they change their nature? Can they really keep fighting while retaining their humanity?

This is a fragile but violent rebirth of the characters through season 2, and I think you’ll see the elements of this “madness” in many characters – Nick Travis, Daniel.

E n Speaking of Daniel (played by Ruben Blades), there were some moments “dark” of his past in Season 1. Is -this we will see more in in season 2? And in what way will it affect his relationship with his daughter, Ofelia (played by Mercedes Mason)?

In Season 1, we comes to realize that Daniel was not a mere barber. The truth is that he committed many atrocities in the past. His wife knew. But she was ready to support him, but is now gone. Her daughter Ofelia only just discovered, and the judge. She spent her life to protect her immigrant parents, who came “from another time” and who struggled to integrate the USA.

Is there anything you want to share with fans about the upcoming season?

I think the question that intrigues us most is: “We all know that we will be on a boat because it was seen at the end of season 1, but … where the characters will they go? “

I think we’ll quickly realize that the ocean is not safer than the earth, and it is quite another level of adversity and threats. What will push the characters to choose a destination. But she will? North to Vancouver? Where south to Cabo? As this is a big boat with big reservoirs, technically they could cross the Pacific and go until Hawaii. One could even end with zombies in paradise (laughs).

This is the most intriguing question of first episodes of the new season: What port will the characters find? And when they reach it, is that they will be safe?

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 2 simultaneous US on the night of April 10 to 11 and available in stride VF and VOST on CANAL + oN DEMAND.
