Felix Van Groeningen’s not a stranger. The Flemish director, who won a César Award for Best Foreign Film for The Broken Circle Breakdown (2013) sign a new lively and powerful film. Belgica dives into his memories of the bar The Charlatan , in Ghent, where his father was the owner. The filmmaker was inspired by the new owners of the establishment to tell the story of two brothers trying to reconcile liberal ideals and harsh economic reality, amid alcohol, sex and rock’n’roll.
